An abundance of female flowers have shown up on both yellow crookneck and zucchini, but very few male - and no sign of a bee anywhere....... So, I did a little bit of hand pollinating this morning, and tomorrow will do the same. Anyway, these two were done, and I hope they turn out OK.
Wow squash blooms already. My squash won't be planted for at least a week and quite possibly more. We have had some cold drizzly weather. They would just shrivel up and die here. But at least we are going to get a few mostly sunny days before the rain comes back.
ReplyDeleteDaphne - it's just been so warm here, that everything is ahead of schedule.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that you have flowers on your squash already. I haven't even thought about starting any yet. I think I'm just going to direct sow a few at the plots before we leave on vacation and see what happens.
ReplyDeleteSo, you were playing cupid today??? It can't hurt.
Robin - yeah, I always play Cupid - just in case.....
